Commode Bucket Cleaning
Note: protective gloves are recommended when
emptying the commode potty.
To remove the commode bucket, simply slide
the bucket out from the chrome runners at the
rear of the commode. Cover the top of the
bucket to avoid splashing. Carefully dispose of
the contents into a proper sluice or toilet.
Caution: Never empty contents into an open
drain, sink or basin. This could cause a
serious health risk.
Clean out the residue with a suitable disinfectant
and refit to the commode.
It is recommended that the seat is also wiped
with a disinfectant wipe or mild solution after
each use. Also wipe down the frame if any
spillages are apparent using a mild disinfectant
solution/wipe.
Note: NRS Healthcare offers a range of protective
gloves and cleaning solutions to assist in the
effective decontamination of the potty and
commode.

Commode cleaning
Simply hose down/wash down or pressure wash with
a mild detergent solution, ensuring all detergents are
washed off thoroughly.
Wipe the commode thoroughly dry, paying particular
attention to all joints and abutments. Do not use an
abrasive cloth for drying
Caution: you must not use abrasive cleaners or
cleaners that attack chromium plating as this will
affect the integrity of the chromium plated
surface.
It is recommended that all joints, abutments and
castors are then sprayed with a water dispersing
agent such as WD40; this will give your commode
greater longevity and avoid premature rusting.
Maintenance
Check all components while in service on a regular
basis, once a week is recommended (and, following
decontamination, prior to reissue).
Ensure that all components are secure.
This includes:
The tightness of nuts and hand wheels.
The tightness, condition and operation of castors
including brake function.
Check all E-clips are securely engaged.
Check the condition and operation of footrests.
Check upholstery and moulding for splits.
Tighten and/or replace as necessary before re-use.
If in any doubt, please do not use or issue, but
contact your supplier for service support.
