6. Cleaning and sterilising
Warning!
Hygiene is of the utmost priority
when handling breast milk and all
parts that come into contact with it.
The pump should therefore only
be used in a clean and sterile
condition.
Clean, sterilise and quickly dry
all
parts
before using for the first time
and immediately
after each use
.
6.1 Cleaning
Caution!
To avoid damaging the lip valve
carefully clean it. We recommend just
rinsing off the lip valve and boiling it to
sterilise. Cleaning implements could cause
damage.
1. Clean all parts with warm water and a
little washing up liquid (or NUK Baby
Bottle Cleanser).
2. Rinse off all parts in running water.
Warning!
Milk residues may
damage the material and result
in microbial growth.
Caution!
The parts should not be cleaned
in a dishwasher – dishwasher detergents
can cause material damage.
Note:
When rinsing with dishes (for
example), certain foodstuffs (e.g. carrot
juice) may discolour the parts or affect
their odour (e.g. fennel tea). This has no
effect on the fitness for use or safety of
the bottle.
3. Next, sterilise all components (see
