Note:
The device should not be operated without
the battery compartment lid.
Caution!
The batteries should be removed if the
device is not going to be used for a while to prevent
the possibility of leaking batteries causing damage to
the device.
10. Operation (Figure (3)
Hygiene is very important before operating the
pump and therefore everyday hygiene routines, such
as washing your hands, should carried out before
expressing.
Important!
First set the suction power regulator
(17)
to
minimum by rotating the ring towards the “
–
”
symbol. You can then easily increase the suction
strength as you express milk in Phase 2.
1. Switch the breast pump on. To do this, press the
On/Off button
(14)
.
2. Position the breast shield
(2)
on your breast
so that the nipple is positioned in the centre of
the shield. Gently press the breast shield in order
to ensure a good seal when expressing the milk.
Hold the pump in a vertical position.
Note!
If you hold the pump at too great an angle
or if the pump topples over, it will switch off
automatically.
Important!
The breast pump automatically
simulates your baby’s natural sucking action:
Phase 1:
In the first
minute the sucking
rhythm is short and
stimulating to simulate the
milk flow letdown.
Phase 2:
After this the pump changes to a slow
and intensive suction rhythm.
Important!
If the pump is switched off and then
switched on again the programme goes back to the
beginning with the fast suction rhythm. This gives
you the opportunity to extend Phase 1.
3. Now you can adjust the suction using the suction
power regulator
(17)
until the optimum suction
strength is reached.
If the suction is too weak, rotate towards the “+”
symbol. If the suction is too strong, rotate the
suction power regulator
(17)
towards the “–” symbol.
Note:
In phase 2 the breast pump automatically
changes to a stronger suction power, so remember
to select a lower suction setting at the beginning.
Caution:
In order not to damage the pump you
should ensure that the expressed milk does not
reach as far as the lip valve
(4)
.
4. Press the On/Off button
(14)
again to stop the
pumping action.
5. When removing pump funnel from breast, please
do so very carefully. The pump suction will have
firmly pulled your breast into the funnel and
may be quite sensitive when removing from
funnel. You may wish to run phase 1 again for a
short period of time to release some of
the suction pressure.
6. After use, place the breast pump in the stand
(6)
for stability.
7. Unscrew the bottle
(5)
from the connection ring
(3)
and motor unity. Keep the bottle vertical.
8. Disconnect the plug (if you are not using
the batteries) in order to disconnect the pump
completely from the power supply.
9. Clean the parts directly after expressing as
described in section “7: Cleaning & Sterilising”.
10.1 Feeding expressed milk
1. Screw the teat
(8)
onto the bottle with the
screw ring
(9)
.
10.2 Storing expressed milk
1. To store the milk, secure the bottle using the
supplied screw ring
(9)
and sealing disc
(7)
.
–
= low suction
+
= high suction
