Charging
Although charging the battery before putting the solar panel in the field is not required, it is only charged
about half of its capacity when it leaves the factory. Therefore, it is important to completely charge the
battery before using the solar panel. We strongly encourage you to charge it upon purchase.
The battery can be charged using solar power or the supplied power adaptor.
AC charging
The internal battery can be charged by any standard AC wall outlet using the supplied AC/DC adaptor.
Connect the AC/DC adaptor to the input socket of the solar panel. Next, plug the AC/DC adaptor into any
standard AC wall outlet to begin charging. The charging indicator light will glow solid red to indicate charging
is in progress. When the charging indicator light turns off, it means the battery is fully charged. The internal
battery will take about 3h30 to fully charge.
Do not use any other AC/DC adaptor than the one provided to charge the battery of the solar panel.
Solar charging
The internal battery can be charged using solar energy. For best results, place the solar panel in direct
sunlight. The charging indicator light flashes in green to indicate charging is in progress. When the charging
indicator light turns off, it means the battery is fully charged. The internal battery will take about 11h to fully
charge.
The direct sunlight quality plays a key role in determining the speed of charge. Cloudy days will increase the
time needed to charge the internal battery. The brighter the sunlight, the faster the charge.
