Of course, if the holding tank is full, the heads cannot work! Pump the holding tank (see next page) when required!
Holding Tank Pumpout &
Macerator Pump
There is one holding tank on the boat, Unless the
Y-valve is set so the heads pump overboard, the
sewage from each head goes to its holding tank.
If dumped overboard from this tank, the effluent
passes through a through-hull valve.
The boat is equipped with a tank level indicator at
the helm, so it is easy to tell if that head’s tank is
full. Check the tank level every time you use the
head, and don’t flush if full!
To dump the tank, use a shore side pump out station connecting to the “Waste” deck fittings on starboard side deck. If
not in U.S. waters or a “no-discharge zone”, you can dump the tanks overboard without a pump out station by turning
“ON” the macerator (holding tank) pump at the DC panel. Make sure the valve in the engine compartment is open.
Located amidships on the starboard side.
It takes about four minutes to empty a full holding tank. The best way to monitor it is to run it until bubbles come out
from under the starboard side of the hull. Be sure to turn off the holding tank pump or it will damage the pump if left to
run continuously. Close the valve too.
