5. Assembly instructions for the clear water guarantee
The following instructions must be taken into consideration to make claims applicable
that arise from the clear water guarantee.
Definition of clear water:
Clear water is obtained when the fish or stones on the bottom are visible at a depth
of 1 meter.

3. Prescribed use
The pass-through filter is for the mechanical and biological cleaning of water. If the
pond water temperature remains permanently below 8 °C then the filter should be
taken out of service. This filter is designed exclusively for private use for cleaning
garden ponds with or without fish stock.
The use of a UVC clarifier (Bitron) is provided as an option.
We recommend using the Biotec pass-though filter in conjunction with the Aquamax
filter pump.
Attention!
The Biotec filter may
not
be used for commercial or industrial purposes.
The filter may
not
be used in conjunction with chemicals, foodstuffs, easily flammable
or explosive substances.
4. Safety instructions
Assembly notes
– The entire filter system must be watertight! Therefore you must mount the hose
connection and the tubing carefully.
– The filter may not overflow under any circumstances. There is a risk of emptying
the pond. Thus check the filter regularly for possible blockages or leaks (see
chap. 9 “Cleaning/Maintenance”).
Operating notes
– Never pump any liquid other than water!
– Clean the filter only as needed for optimum development of the filter biology (see
chap. 9 “Cleaning/Maintenance”).
– Do not use any cleaning agents when cleaning the filter. The Biotec filter is a
biologic filter system. Bacteria settle in the filter pad that is killed when cleaning
with chemical agents. This results in an initial lessening if the filter performance.
Near natural garden ponds with plant zones and no fish stock.
Near nature garden ponds with plants and a fish stock of up to 1000 grams per 1000 liters.
Garden and koi ponds with a fish stock of 1000 grams to 3000 grams per 1000 liters.
