•
If noodles or pasta are to be included in the dish, they should be cooked
in the traditional way until softened slightly and then be put into the slow
cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
•
When cooking rice, use long grain rice for best results and add it from the
beginning together with the other ingredients. Add 4 tablespoons of extra
water for each 50g of rice.
•
Spices and herbs: Use fresh herbs and whole spices if possible and then
add half the recommended amount. If dried and ground spices are used,
add them in the last 60 minutes. Always taste before serving.
•
Cream and milk tend to split during lengthy cooking times. Add dairy
products in the last 30 minutes.
Customise your recipes for the slow cooker
This section will help you customise your favourite recipes so that you can
cook them in your slow cooker. Soups and stews, for example, are extra rich
and tasty when cooking at a low temperature for a long time.
Tip!
•
Allow the cooking to take its time and always use the lid.
•
Always fill the pot to at least half in order to keep to the recommended
cooking times.
•
Add less liquid than is stated in the recipe. Generally, the amount of added
liquid can be reduced by half because the liquid does not evaporate in the
same way as in traditional cooking. If you do add too much liquid, remove
the lid and cook at the highest temperature until the excess liquid has
cooked off.
Use
During cooking the glass lid and pot become very hot. Handle with caution and
always use pot holders/oven gloves.
• Place the ceramic pot in the outer casing.
•
Add the ingredients and put on the lid. Never fill the receptacle more than
two thirds full. Never put ingredients directly into the outer casing.
• Plug in the device to a wall socket and set the desired temperature using
the temperature knob, depending on what is to be cooked. The indicator
light comes on and the cooking process begins.

The appliance is turned off
Low temperature:
Used if the food is to be simmered for a long time.
High temperature:
Prepares the food twice as fast as the LOW
setting. The food will boil and it may be necessary to add more liquid
during cooking, depending on what is being cooked. Therefore, the
cooking process should be monitored occasionally when using this
setting.
