Maintenance Guidelines
Introduction
This section describes what is required for proper printer maintenance. Océ Display Graphics
Systems requires that the operator follows the cleaning and replacement guidelines as described
in this Maintenance chapter.
Maintenance Equipment
• Foam Tipped Swab (3010118211)
• Flush (3010106646 Flush UV 1 Liter)
• Bottle-HDPE 125ml for flush (3010105433)
• Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
• Cloth-Poly Wipe 10cm x 10cm (lint-free)
• Dust cloths
CAUTION
For cleaning areas of the printer that have uncured ink contamination use the following safety
equipment
‐
nitrile gloves, a lab coat, and safety glasses with side shields to protect your eyes.
Automatic Maintenance System (AMS)
The Automatic Maintenance System (AMS) is designed to automatically recover the jetting
performance of the printhead nozzles. The AMS can be configured at the user interface to do
maintenance on selected or all color channels.
The printer is equipped with two identical Automatic Maintenance Systems (Primary & Back Up).
The primary system is located near the carriage park position. The Back Up system is located at
the opposite side of the gantry and is used only when there is an issue with the primary system.
See the troubleshooting section for when to switch to the Back Up system.
Operator Maintenance Schedule
Your printer requires regular maintenance. Daily maintenance involves cleaning printheads and
areas where ink can accumulate. A few minutes spent cleaning ensures the highest quality prints.
The following table provides our recommended maintenance schedule. This is a minimum
requirement and some procedures may need to be done with greater frequency. Each of the
procedures is explained in detail in the following sections.
