Daily Maintenance Procedures
Introduction
The daily maintenance activities in this section should be performed at the beginning of each
work day.
To maintain optimal printing performance it is important to remove dust and debris from the
following surfaces:
• Vacuum table
• Maintenance door
• Gantry light shield
CAUTION
For cleaning areas of the printer that have uncured ink contamination use the following safety
equipment
‐
nitrile gloves, a lab coat, and safety glasses with side shields to protect your eyes.
To maintain optimal printing performance it is important to remove any excess ink build up from
the following areas:
• Ink spit tray
• Bottom of the printheads
• Bottom of the carriage
• AMS suckers
• AMS self-cleaning plate
Excess ink can become tacky over time. This will make it easier for dust and fibers to attach to
these surfaces. Dust and fibers that collect on the bottom of the printheads or carriage can collect
ink during printing and eventually drip on to the media.
