Cleaning the Automatic Maintenance System (AMS)
Introduction
Clean the Automatic Maintenance System station daily.
Equipment
• Cloth-Poly Wipe 10cm x 10cm (lint-free)
• Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)
• Foam Tipped Swab (3010105434)
• Flush (3010106646 Flush UV 1 liter)
Procedure
1.
Remove the cover plate as shown below (Hint: you can insert the handle end of a swab and then
slide in the direction of the arrow on the cover, and then start the lift).
2.
Turn the cover plate over and clean the underside using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
3.
Dip the foam end of a swab in a small container of flush.
4.
From the Tools and Utility tab click on the
Right
button under "Press Right button to apply
vacuum to the suctionheads for 30 seconds (Right is the primary AMS located near where the
carriage is parked) and while the suction is active, gently draw the swab across the top of all the
suctionheads to remove any ink deposits.
