2-sided copying cannot be made on the following paper:
- 17 to 20-lb bond (64 to 79 g/m

) paper
- Postcards, irregular size paper
- Transparencies
- Paper loaded in the stack bypass

Make sure to turn the Original Recognition function on before proceeding. If the Original
Recognition function is turned off, the copier may not be able to distinguish between the
two facing pages of a bounded original. (See “Specifying Automatic Recognition of the
Size of the Original (Original Recognition)” on p. 1-115.)

The maximum number of copies that can be specified is 50.

Place the original on the platen glass; then press [Two-sided
Mode].
If you want to make copies in the correct page order, begin copying from the last
facing pages of the original.
Place the original face down such that the originals top edge is aligned with the
back edge of the platen glass.
When the feeder (option) is attached, copy with the feeder lifted up. If the feeder
is lowered, the copier will not be able to correctly determine the size of the
original.

The display returns to the Basic Features screen and <Book 2-sided> appears
above [Two-sided Mode].
