Copying Facing Pages in a Book on Two Separate
Sheets of Paper
(Two-page Separation)
This function enables you to copy facing pages in a book or a magazine onto
separate sheets of paper.
NOTE

Make sure to turn the Original Recognition function on before proceeding. If the Original
Recognition function is turned off, the copier may not be able to distinguish between the
two facing sides of a bounded original. (See “Specifying Automatic Recognition of the
Size of the Original (Original Recognition),” on p. 1-115.)

To make two-sided copies from facing pages in a bound original, specify to copy using
the Book

Place the original on the platen glass; then press [Sp. Feature]
➔
[Two-Page Separation].
If you want to make copies in the correct page order, begin copying from the last
page of the original.
Place the original face down such that the original’s top edge is aligned with the
back edge of the platen glass.
When the feeder (option) is attached, copy with the feeder lifted up. If the feeder
is lowered, the copier will not be able to correctly determine the size of the
original.
