Login Dialog
The login dialog requires the entry of a username which is registered in the PRISMApro-
duction data base and a corresponding password. The login dialog appears if
•
the logon is performed from outside (e.g. via Java Webstart)
•
on a Master or Slave, if the Linux user is not registered as PRISMA user in the PRIS-
MAproduction data base.
6.2.3 Permission Groups
A group is a defined set of permissions. Access to these permissions can partly be activated
or deaktivated. Every user is assigned one permission group. The group defines on the one
hand, which permissions the user has within the PRISMA Explorer, on the other hand it in-
fluences the appearance and the functionality of the Linus desktop (e.g. the PRISMA envi-
ronment outside the Explorer).
The four default permission groups (admin, service, applic, operator) are predefined and
grant the same permissions to the user as in version 3.0. These default users and groups
cannot be modified or deleted.
Only the four default permission groups will be available after installation. With the new user
management you can define permission groups, which are different from the default
groups. To achieve this, you have to copy an existing group to modify it‘s permissions. The
procedure of copying ensures that for all new groups one of the four default groups is known
as basic group. The basic group influences the appearance and the functionality of the
Linux desktop while all other premissions available can be set individually.
Permissions which you set individually are for instance:
•
the user is allowed to work with the Print Job Manager in expert mode,
•
the user is allowed to delete print jobs of other users.
