About the Central Reproduction Department
Definition
A central reproduction department is an area where printing activities are joined. The
user must prepare a print file to allow an operator to print the documents.
Attributes
There can be two different central reproduction environments.
■
An in-house repro department.
The repro department has internal users. The print files, prepared on the user computer,
are sent to a server directory. An operator has access to the print files and completes
the printing.
■
A copy shop.
The copy shop has external users. The document owner provides the operator with
the file in order to print the file. The file can be on CD-ROM, diskette, tape or can
be sent by email or Internet.
