The OMX-DEM100 has been designed for easy integration into your system.
The OMX-DEM100 is a powerful production tool that has many applications. To use the unit, simply
connect audio line level signals to the rear input connections as indicated. The built in 6 x 1 stereo
audio -follow-video passive switcher will switch the audio outputs to the two front panel VU meters and
the video signal to any terminated monitoring device connected to the VIDEO OUT BNC. The switch-
er works in exactly the same manner as the TecNec PSW-6 passive AFV switcher. The switcher pro-
vides no termination until the selected input in on-line. Therefore, buffered signals must be used (as
is the case with all passive signal switching devices).
The switcher also routes the audio signals to the input of the built in 15 Watt Stereo power amplifier.
The amplifier will drive 8
Ω
speakers by simply connecting them to the rear CH-1 and CH-2 1/4” jacks
where TIP is Hot and Ring is Ground. Front panel control knobs allow the adjustment of power lev-
els of the amplifier. The knobs also serve as shut off switches for the amplifier input feeds, but does
not interrupt the feeds to the VU meters. The VU meters will always meter the selected audio signal
regardless of the status of the amplifier.
The OMX-DEM100 is provided with an earphone jack located on the front panel. To use this jack you
must LOWER THE LEVEL OF THE AMPLIFIER BEFORE INSERTING THE HEADPHONES.
Inserting the headphones will automatically interrupt the feed to the speakers. This is why you must
lower the amp level first, or you may damage the headphones. The amplifier can drive the head-
phones at the same level as the speakers, so be careful no to over drive the headphones when you
have them on.
The headphone jack may also be used to drive a second set of speakers. In a typical diagnostic
bench setup, the front phone jack can be used to test speakers just by plugging them in.
The OMX-DEM100 has many applications in the lab, A/V production facility or A/V Master Control.
