Edition 2
Make Software and Phrase Areas Redundant
Having two software areas on the server allows an upgrade to be performed online and allows
new software to be run on a trial basis, with the option of returning to the previous release.
The server should now be running with the new software. The old software should still be in the
nonboot area. Octel recommends that the server be run with the new software for approximately 1
week, to ensure that the server is running smoothly.
Caution!
If problems arise with the new software, call the Octel Technical
Assistance Center (TAC) immediately. Do not attempt to correct
the problems yourself.
If the server is running smoothly with the new software, make the software and phrase areas
redundant, as follows:
1. Call the Octel Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to have the service option turned on.
Be prepared to provide the pilot number of the hunt group assigned to the server. Wait for
confirmation that the service option is on.
