Pipe heat tracing

GB

The following instructions must be observed.
Failure to observe these instructions may lead to damages and electric shock.

• Measure the length of the pipe to be protected (including all valves). The minimum pipe length is

2 m. Overlappings of several heating cables must not exceed 1 m.

• Lay the heating cable straight along the pipe. A cable protects pipes up to DN40.
• For pipes from DN50, apply two separate heating cables in parallel on opposite sides of the pipe.
• For pipes with diameter from ⅜“ to ¾“, the heating cable can be 0.6 m shorter than the pipe.
• Never plug in the heating cable while it is still coiled.
• Never place the heating cable in a way that external heat sources might cause overheating. Do

not use the trace heating on pipes that can be heated up to more than +65 °C, like e.g. steam
lines.

• Do not modify the heating cable. If made shorter, it will overheat. Any manipulation or attempt

to modify the heating cable, will void the warranty. Once cut, the heating cable cannot be repai-
red.

• The thermostat and the entire heating cable must be in contact with the pipe to be heated.
• Never use metal fastenings to secure the heating cable to the pipe.
• Do not mount the same cable on more than one pipe. Mounting one heating cable on different

pipes may lead to overheating, fire or electric shock.

• Never allow the heating cable to touch, cross or overlap. This may lead to overheating, fire or

electric shock.

• Never install the heating cable in walls, floors or room ceilings.
• Flammable material must not be within 13 mm distance of the mounted trace heating.
