To maintain flawless operation, do the following at least once a year:
1. Check burner head extension, and change if necessary.
2. Check diffuser disc, and change if necessary. Check burner adjustments if diffuser
disc appears dirty.
3. Check ignition cable condition from the whole length. Change, if necessary.
4. Clean and check ignition electrodes, and check correct position. Change, if
necessary.
5. Check flame detector position, condition and cleanliness.
6. Clean filters at least once a year. Filters may have to be cleaned more often
depending on circumstantial conditions.
7. Check air dampers fixing screws and servomotor axle lock. Retighten if necessary.
8. Check hoses and pipes and their joints for leaks. Repair/change, if necessary.
9. Check and lubricate adjustment rod joints if the burner has adjustable combustion
head.
10. Clean burner from dust and moisture.
11. Check that the boiler room fresh air inlet is open.
12. Check combustion characterstics with flue gas measurement:
● at regular intevals or when sooting the boiler
● at least once a year.
Maintenance recommendations
Correct installation and adjustment as well as regular maintenance ensure trouble-free
burner operation.
● Service the burner annually.
● Use only original spare parts.
● When ordering spare parts, give the burner type and serial number indicated on the
burner type label or manufacturing card.
Opening the burner
The burner can be swung open from its hinged joint for adjusting the ignition
electrodes, changing or cleaning nozzles, and other similar tasks.
To open the burner:
1. Switch off power to the burner from the control switch.
2. Close the gas supply from the gas shut-off valve.
3. Detach the oil hose or hoses. Clean any oil dripping from the oil line with an oil-
absorbent wipe or similar.
4. Detach any electrical connections that might get in the way or damaged.
5. Open the hinged flange locking screw.
6. The burner can now be swung open from the hinged joint.
7. When closing the burner, perform the steps in reverse order.
Detaching the burner from the boiler
Follow lifting instructions when lifting the burner.
Before reinstalling the burner to the boiler, check that the insulating
material around the combustion head is undamaged. Replace if
necessary.
