10. Fault Conditions and Procedures
In the event of fault conditions the basic requirements for correct operation must be first
examined:
1. Is the valve leak tester (if any) in operation (yellow indicating lamp is lit)?
2. Check the electric supply.
3. Check that all regulating and control devices are correctly set.
4. Are the safety devices in normal operating condition?
5. Is the burner getting fuel, are the valves in fuel line open, is there pressure in the gas piping?
When it is established, that the fault is not due to above mentioned, the individual burner
functions must be checked. Reset the burner control unit if it is in lockout position (signal lamp
lights). Burner starts, when the sequence switch has run to its start position and other
prerequisites for start are fulfilled (see chapter ”Burner Automation; Operation”). Observe the
burner functions. The symbol appearing above the reading mark indicates the possible kind of
fault (see chapter ”Control Program under Fault Conditions and Lockout Indication”). Measuring
instruments can be used for finding of the fault.
CAUTION
POSSIBLE CAUSE
REMEDY
1.
Motor
Burner motor does not start Break in motor control circuit:
- faulty control unit
Faulty motor
Find cause and remedy (see
circuit diagram)
Replace control unit

2.
Lack of air pressure
Burner motor starts, but
during pre-purge period
or after it lockout occurs.
Incorrect setting on differential
air pressure switch
Impulse hose(s) of differential air
pressure switch dirty
Faulty differential air pressure

Dirty fan
Check setting, adjust if
necessary
Clean hose(s)
Replace

3.
Ignition failure
Burner motor starts, control
voltage from control unit to
ignition transformer is
switched on, no ignition and
after a short time lockout
occurs.
Faulty servomotor or incorrect
setting
