electrical connection and alterations
Caution!
•
Check with an electrician whether the domestic wiring system is suitable without alterations. Any alterations must only be made by a
qualified electrician.
•
The cord should not be extended or folded into coil during operation.
•
Adapters, multi-socket strips and extension leads must not be used.
•
Overloading could result in a risk of fire.
Caution!
Before connecting to the power supply, check:
•
The voltage meets requirements.
•
The appliance uses an individual socket and does not share one with another electric appliance. A dedicated power protection switch
must be incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
Selection of installation equipment

Cut out the work surface according to the following sizes.
L
900 mm
W
520 mm
H
60 mm
D
56 mm
A
875 mm
B
495 mm
X
50 mm (Min.)
•
A minimum of 50 mm space shall be preserved around the hole.
•
The thickness of the work surface must be at least 30 mm. Select heat-resistant work surface material to avoid larger deformation caused by
the heat radiation from the hotplate.
•
The appliance must be well ventilated at all times. The air inlet and outlet shall not be blocked.
39
Observe the following sizes.
A
760 mm
(= minimum safety distance between hotplate and cupboard above the hotplate)
B
50 mm
C
20 mm
D
Air intake
e
5 mm
(= minimum for air exit)
•
The induction hob must be well ventilated and the air inlet and outlet at the bottom of the appliance must not be blocked. The fan situated at
the bottom of the hob must have sufficient space and flow of fresh air at all times.
40
Seal the cut edge of the worktop with heat resistant silicone.
Place the appliance into the cut out. Push down firmly to fit in place.
41
preparation: Place the appliance on a stable, smooth surface (for example on the packaging). Do not apply force onto the controls protruding from
the appliance.
Adjusting the bracket position: Fix the appliance on the work surface by screwing 4 brackets on the bottom of hob after installation. Adjust the
bracket position to suit for different table top thicknesses.
42
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Brown and Black = L - Live
Blue and Grey = N - Neutral
Green/yellow = - earth
The connection point must be placed in a position adjacent to the appliance so as to be readily accessible for an engineer in the event of a
breakdown.
43
for UK only
A Switched Fused Connection Unit to BS 1363 Part 4 is recommended.
The fuse must be rated at 32 Amps.
Any permanent electrical installation must comply with the latest I.E.E. Regulations and local electricity company regulations. For your own safety
a qualified electrician or contractor who is on the roll of the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) should
undertake the electrical installation.
When you have installed the hob, make sure that
•
The power supply cable is not accessible through cupboard doors or drawers.
•
There is adequate flow of fresh air from outside the cabinetry to the base of the hob.
•
The isolating switch is easily accessible by the consumer.
•
The cable is not bent or compressed.
•
The cable is checked regularly and replaced by authorised technicians.
