Okayo Portable PA System

2

This new release from Okayo is exclusive to Altronics. Not much larger than a shoebox and weighing just 4kg it is very
compact and produces a clean crisp sound from its powerful 30W amplifier. The inbuilt battery will provide several
hours of use away from mains power. Alternatively the unit may be powered from the mains by the AC/DC adapter pro-
vided.

Three versions are available. All models include the same amplifier, power supply, battery and charging circuit. The
amplifier includes a 6.35mm mic input plus 3.5mm auxiliary input, both with volume controls. Tone and master vol-
umes are also provided.

C 7206 Base Model:

As above. Provision for 2 UHF modules.

C 7207 UHF Model:

Includes a 96 channel UHF mic receiver for roaming applications. Provision for an additional

UHF module.

C 7210 UHF & MP3 Model:

Includes UHF receiver plus an MP3 player which accepts both USB stick or SD card.

Provision for an additional UHF module.

Interface with 50W Okayo Portable PA:

When fitted with UHF receivers these 30W units will receive any signal

transmitted from the larger 50W Okayo (with transmitter link module fitted). This allows them to be used as “slaves” in
a large system providing additional sound coverage as required. In this application any number of “slave” units can be
used. This provides almost unlimited scope for small or large venues.

Operation

Power & Charging Functions (All models)

The portable PA system uses an 18V power supply which plugs into the 2.1mm DC socket on the rear (see figure 2 for
location) or via the internal battery pack.  When operating for the first time the internal battery will require charging
for up to 8 hours. Charging will occur whenever the unit is plugged into the mains supply. The charge status indicator
(shown in figure 2) will illuminate red when charging. Once battery is 80-90% charged the indicator will flash red and
green. Once charging is complete the indicator will illuminate green.

When in use without mains power the LED built into the power switch provides indication of battery status:

100% to 30% capacity:

no illumination

30% to 10% capacity:

red illumination

<10% capacity:

flashing red illumination

If battery fails to hold charge:

The internal battery requires changing. To do this, ensure unit is not plugged into mains power supply. Unscrew the
battery access panel on the rear of the unit. Remove battery and disconnect terminals. Reconnect new battery ensur-
ing correct polarity, red positive (+), black negative (-). Screw battery access panel to the unit and reconnect to power
supply for charging. A full charge will take up to 8 hours.
