Revision 1.0
The function of the three lines described above can also be achieved
using the following single record in DNS.DAT.
N 21
R 16 I 133.149.1.91 I 133.149.1.92 I 133.149.1.93 I 133.149.1.94
N21 results in a greater number of remaining digits (R).
If the information is arranged in this manner, it will take longer to
connect a call since dialing does not start until the inter-digit time out (5
sec) has occurred after dialing the extension or a fax number.
I 192.168.191 I 192.168.1.92 I 192.168.1.93 I 192.168.1.94
Specifies the IP address of BV1250 units adjacent to PBX Office Code 21.
In a similar manner, multiple BV1250 units can be used as a single group
by specifying multiple IP addresses so that a call to PBX Office Code 21
can be routed to other BV1250-E&M units (e.g. Office Code 91, Office
Code 92, Office Code 93 and Office Code 94).
Note that in the case of multiple addresses in a single record, an incoming
call is routed in the order in which IP address are listed. In the above
example, any call targeted to PBX Code 21 will search for any free port
on Unit 91 first, followed by 92, 93 and finally 94.
It is recommended that extensions for fax and PSTN be set
separately.
B:
N 27 R3 I 133.149.1.93 I 133.149.1.94
Line B provides translation information for terminating a call at PBX
Office Code 27.
The values for N, R, and I have the same purpose as those described in
the preceding example.
The hunting configuration for this unit will use any free channel on unit
94 first, followed by any free channel on unit 93. Any traffic to and from
PBX Code 27 will use only the two units 94 and 93.
C:
N 51 R2 I 206.184.223.95 I 206.184.223.96
Line C represents translation information for the BV1250-FXO units
connected directly PBX 51.
These units function as a group, in a manner similar to that discussed in
line A.
N52
:
Specifies the PBX Office Code 51.
R2:
Specifies “2” as the remaining digits that must be dialed to
connect with the PBX extensions.
I:
206.184.223.95 I 206.184.223.96 are the IP addresses of units 6
and 7.
