Revision 1.0
The number of extension digits included in the Destination Office
Code can be greater than that used in the sample, but the Remaining
Digits field must be adjusted accordingly. See Remaining Digits,
below.
•
In the case of AP/FXS and ungrouped FXO units, the Destination
Office Code is the unit’s IVG Office Code.
In the sample network, the AP/FXS unit destination Unit 8, is
Office Code 31. The FXO unit destination Unit 6, is Office Code
95.
•
In the case of E&M units, the Destination Office Code is that of
the PBX to which the unit is connected.
In the sample network, the E&M unit destination, Unit 1 is PBX
Office Code 21. The digits 5, 7, and 9 have been added to
facilitate routing to extensions 5000 ~ 5999, 7000 ~ 7999, and
PSTN Access Code 9. The result is that the Destination Office
Codes for this unit are 215, 217, and 219.
The E&M unit destination, Unit 4, has the same destinations as
those for Unit 1, but also includes the PBX Office Code 27
because this unit is associated with a Trunk Group routed to PBX
27. No additional digits are included so the Destination Office
Code is simply 27.
•
If FXO units are arranged into a Trunk Group, record that groups
Office Code.
In the sample network, Unit 9 and Unit 10 are associated as a
Hunt Group with the Office Code 32, so the destination Office
Code is 32. No additional digits are included.
Remaining Digits
Record the number of digits in addition to the Office Code digits to be
associated with the destination unit. This is usually the number of
digits used for the extension number.
•
For the sample AP/FXS unit, Unit 8, the number of remaining
digits is 1 because the extensions are single digit.
•
For the sample E&M unit, Unit 1, most of the destinations have
remaining digits set to 3. The one exception is the PSTN
destination, in which case the remaining digits is 11, allowing
PSTN numbers up to 11 digits in length to be accessed. (E.g. 1-
805-555-1212). Setting remaining digits to 11 does not mean that
the user must dial all 11 digits when calling a number.
Comments
Use the Comments field to record free text information regarding the
unit. This information is for reference purposes and is recorded in
MCS files only.
