Chapter 2 Principles of Operation
2.3 ELECTRICAL OPERATION
2.3.01 Initialization
Initialization occurs whenever the printer is powered ON or when the signal I-PRIME is received at the
parallel interface.
The initialization sequence is as follows.
· Q6, Q8, and Q11 are reset.
· The operating modes of Q6, Q8, and Q11 are set.
· Memory (ROM and RAM) is checked.
· RAM is initialized.
· Carriage homing is performed. The carriage will move to the left until it contacts the left frame.
· The program establishes the interface signals (ACK, BUSY) and the SEL lamp lights.
