Cleaning of external unit battery
The battery’s function is to dissipate the heat extracted from
the air-conditioned rooms into the atmosphere and in order
for this to happen with maximum efficiency, cold air is blown
across the battery by means of a fan.
For this reason, dirt present in the air tends to accumulate
inside the battery’s air inlet (dust, leaves etc.) which, in the
long run, could make air circulation difficult and reduce the
appliance’s output.
The external battery should therefore be cleaned at least at
the beginning of each season by means of a vacuum
cleaner onto which a soft brush has been applied.
As regards the heat pump models, the external unit’s battery
should be cleaned at least twice a year (both at the beginning
of the heating and of the cooling season).
The external unit’s battery should in any case be cleaned
whenever there are significant accumulations of dirt.

Cleaning of Bodywork
A soft cloth dampened in a solution of water and neutral
liquid detergent should be used to clean the bodywork of the
internal units and the external unit. After such, the bodywork
should be rinsed with another soft cloth dampened with
clean fresh water (fig. 21).
Solvents or abrasive liquids or pastes should on no account
be used to clean the bodyworks.
