1 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Under certain conditions, performance of this system may be adversely affected by factors other than
defects. If a problem occurs, please review the following list and take remedial action as needed.
If you cannot solve the problem after checking the entire list, please contact your local Olympus
representative for assistance.
Before contacting Olympus, please fill the “Inquiry Table” at the end of this volume and inform Olympus of
its contents.

Laser is not oscillating.
Turn the laser unit ON.
Ensure that the emission key
is set to the ON position.

INSTRUCTIONS
An inverted microscope is
used and the light path
selector dial is not set to the
LSM light path. (When an
erecting microscope is used,
starting scanning sets the
LSM light path automatically.
Set the light path selector
dial to the LSM light path.

INSTRUCTIONS
An excitation tube or
analyzer for visual
observation is engaged in
the microscope. (When the
AX70A is used, starting
scanning disengages the
excitation cube from the light
path automatically.)
Disengage the excitation
tube and analyzer from the
light path.

OPERATION
INSTRUCTIONS
The objective is not engaged
in the light path.
Stop the objective at a click
position.
When the AX70A is used,
engage the objective
correctly in the light path.

The pinhole diameter is
small.
Increase the pinhole size.

The barrier filter is not
optimum.
Set the barrier filter.

the light path detection
switch.
