(4) Using the PC-Fax function
Perform the setting in Memory Switch No. 63: “RX Priority”, page 168, to select whether the computer
or the facsimile will accomplish fax communication. Refer to the instruction manual of the related
application software in your computer for instructions on fax transmission and reception.
1. Turn the Class 1 mode ON. (An asterisk (*) should be
displayed in the upper right portion of the message
display.) If the Class 1 mode is not ON, follow the
procedure described in “(7) Turning the Class 1 mode
ON”, page 166, and turn the Class 1 mode ON.
2. Follow the procedure on fax transmission and reception
described in the instruction manual of the related
application software in your computer.

This procedure will allow documents and images to be scanned by this fax and, by dialling your own
fax number, the data will be sent to your computer. To accomplish this, it is necessary to perform fax
reception operations on your computer.
