External Answering Machine
If a mailbox or any other external answering machine is used, there is the
option of outputting a Message Waiting signal informing the handset owner
that messages are waiting to be picked up from the external answering
machine. To make this feature work, the carrier must support this
functionality and all the requisite settings must be made beforehand. Please
contact your carrier for details. The Message Waiting signal appears on the
display as
and the green LED
/
on the base station starts flashing.
Entering the service number
1. In the menu, press
to select
Message waiting
. Then press
OK
on
the display to confirm.
2. The
Message Waiting
menu appears.
In the menu, press
to select
Service
. Then press
OK
on the display
to confirm.
3. Enter the service number as
appropriate or edit an existing one.
Finish off by pressing
OK
on the
display.

Playing messages
To play a message press key
for longer than 3 seconds. The
telephone will connect to the specified service number.
Clearing a message
When the messages on the external mailbox have been played, the
symbol disappears. The symbol can also be removed manually:
1. The
Message waiting
menu is
displayed.
In the menu, press
to select
item
Clear message
. Then press
OK
on the display to confirm.

Note:
The external answering machine and the notification of messages
waiting are optional services provided by the carrier. These functions are
available only if the carrier provides this service. Please contact your carrier
for further information.
