HomePlug 8500W Wireless Adapter

Safety Information

The HomePlug 8500W is an electrical device and operates using mains power. For
reasons of your own personal safety, handle it with the same care and attention
given to all electrical equipment!

For reasons of safety, read the following regulations and instructions and observe the
information contained:

1. Unplug the HomePlug 8500W from the power supply before cleaning it. Never

use liquid cleaning agents or aerosol cleaners. Only use a slightly moist cloth.

2. Do not use the HomePlug 8500W near water.

3. Do not position the HomePlug 8500W beside or above a heating radiator or

another source of water. Never use the device as a built−in installation except
where sufficient ventilation is ensured.

4. Do not expose the HomePlug either to extreme temperatures or humid

conditions and protect it from direct sunlight and dusty conditions.

5. Only connect the HomePlug 8500W to mains power outlets whose properties

comply to those stipulated on the corresponding product labels. If there is any
cause for doubt, consult your dealer or local power company.

6. The HomePlug 8500W may only be connected to a fused power outlet. Ensure

that the fuses and circuit breakers of all the lines conducting electricity are
designed for 100 − 240 V (according to the respective national power supply
grid).

7. Connect the HomePlug 8500W power adapter to a 100 − 240 V power socket.

Do not use an extension cord.

8. Never attempt to modify the HomePlug 8500W or complete any repair work on it

yourself since opening and removing the covers exposes you to the risks of an
electric shock and also annuls any rights to claims under the terms of guarantee.
All repair and service work must be performed by qualified service personnel.

9. Unplug the HomePlug 8500W from the power outlet and contact an authorised

service centre if one of the following occurs:

If liquid is spilled into the device.

S

If the device comes into contact with water.

S

If the device does not operate normally although the instructions in the
operating manual have been followed.

S

If the device shows a distinct deterioration in performance.
