Plug in the power supply
and insert the new
illuminator as shown. It will
slide freely in and out.
Look at a sample through
the microscope to find the
best position of the
illuminator for brightness
and/or uniformity.
Noting that position, wrap
enough tape around the
illuminator so it is held in
place by friction when
pushed back in. If it is
pushed in slightly past the
best position, the thumb
screw can be loosened
and the original focusing
mechanism used for
adjustment.
