Mounting the scope unit
Be sure to connect the scope unit and initialize the scope settings according to the explanation in
this chapter for a new or replacement scope unit.
The scope must be initialized when the scope unit and base unit are used together for the first
time. Image noise will be extreme unless the scope is initialized.

Note the following precautions when connecting the scope unit.
-
Never touch the electric contacts with your hands or subject them to static electricity.
-
Do not allow metal or other foreign objects to get into the connectors.
-
Do not connect it in an area subject to high humidity or a dusty environment where metal dust or other
fine particles are present.
-
Do not drop or otherwise subject the scope unit to strong impact.
-
Do not apply excessive pulling, pushing and twisting force.
Otherwise, the instrument may be damaged.
•
After the scope unit is connected, do not remove it except to replace it if it is damaged.
Foreign material sticking to the electric contacts or your hands touching them may cause a malfunction.
NOTE
•
The scope unit can be replaced by the user if it becomes damaged. For details on how to remove the
scope unit, see "7.3 Replacing a damaged scope unit" (P. 45).
