3 Mounting the scope unit
Initializing the scope
When the scope unit is connected to the base unit for the first time, the scope must be initialized to
optimize image quality.
Do these settings inside at room temperature (25°
C
). Image noise might be extreme if the scope is
initialized in a very hot or cold environment.
Refer to "6.1 Performing menu operations" (P. 34) for menu operations.

Insert the distal end of the insertion tube into the shading hole in the cushion
in the carrying case as far as it can go.

Select [SCOPE INITIALIZATION] from [SETUP] in the menu.

Select [EXECUTE] and then short-press the [ENT/MENU] button.
Initialization of the scope ends in about five minutes after which the Live screen is displayed.
NOTE
•
It takes about five minutes to initialize the scope.
•
Do not remove the insertion tube from the shading hole while the scope is initializing. Otherwise, the scope
will not be correctly initialized and image noise may be extreme.
•
Initialize these settings each time that the scope unit is used with a new base unit.
