3.1. Basic Overview
3.1.1. The player’s controls

Throughout this manual, the buttons on the player are labelled according to the
picture above. Whenever a button name is prefixed by “Long”, a long press of approx-
imately one second should be performed on that button. The buttons are described in
detail in the following paragraph. Additional information for blind users is available on

the Rockbox website at
Hold the player with the black front facing you such that the m:robe writing is read-
able. Below the writing is the touch sensitive pad with the
Menu
,
Play
,
Left
,
Right
and
Display
controls indicated by their symbols. The dotted center strip is devided in
three parts:
Up
,
Select
and
Down
. On the top of the unit, on the right, is the
Power
switch, which is held down to turn the player on or off.
The
Hold
switch is located on the left of the player, below the headphone socket. It
puts the player into hold mode when it is switched to the top of the unit. The buttons
will have no effect when this is the case. On the bottom of the unit, there is a connector
