Adjusting the coarse focusing knob tension
The focusing unit is designed to be lowered (approaching the objective
with the specimen) when the coarse focusing knob a or fine focusing
knob b is turned in the direction of the arrow.
The tension of the coarse focusing knob is adjustable. Turn the rotation
tension adjustment ring c in the direction of the arrow to decrease
the knob’s tension and in the opposite direction to increase it.
} If the focusing unit lowers by its own weight or the focus obtained
with the fine focusing knob b is lost soon, the tension is set too
loose. In this case, turn the rotation tension adjustment ring c
clockwise (opposite direction of the arrow) to increase the tension.
} If it is difficult to rotate the rotation tension adjustment ring, insert the
Allen screwdriver provided with the frame into the hole d (either
one of 4 holes) of the adjustment ring and rotate the rotation tension
adjustment ring.
Do not use any tool other than the Allen screwdriver
provided with the frame. Otherwise, the failure may be
caused.
