Writing an index mark in a file enables you to quickly access desired position in the file
with the same operations used for fast-forwarding, rewinding or skipping to the start of a
file. However, index marks may not be written in files created with devices other than OM
Digital Solutions or Olympus voice recorders. Index marks are written during recording or
playback.
Writing an index mark

When the desired position has
been reached during recording
or playback, press the
FOLDER/
INDEX
button to write an index
mark.
NOTE
•
You can write up to 99 index
marks in a single file.
The message [
No more can be
set
] appears if you attempt to
write more than 99 marks.
•
You cannot write or erase index
marks in files that have been
locked by the file lock function

If files created with this recorder
are played on a computer, index
marks may become unable to be
written in the files.
•
The index function cannot be
used for files with tag information
other than ID3 tag V2.
Erasing an index mark

Select a file that contains index
mark you want to erase and
start playback.

Use the
M
or
L
button to
select the index mark you want
to erase.

When the number of the index
mark to erase is being shown
(for about 2 seconds) in the
display, press the
ERASE
button.

Any subsequent index marks in the
file are automatically renumbered.
