13. TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause

Action to be taken

Condensation
on glass

1.  Small amount of moisture in

ambient air when light was
sealed.

1.  This may occur only when the

light is off or in the process of
cooling. Operation is not
effected.

2.  Water has entered the light

housing (o-ring defect or
contaminated)

2.  If you notice condensation during

operation of the light. Stop use
immediately, isolate electrically
and cool the light in the water
before removal. Contact your
supplier.

Water in
housing

3.  Defective o-ring or

contaminated

3.  Stop use immediately, isolate

electrically and cool light in the
water then remove. Contact your
supplier.

4.  Glass has cracked

4.  Stop use immediately, isolate

electrically and cool light in the
water then remove. Be careful of
broken glass. Place light back
into road case. Contact your
supplier.

Lamp does not
turn ON with no
tripping from
ELCB unit

5.  Power not ON

5.  Check power is turned on at the

ELCB unit supplied.

6.  Bulb fault.

6.  Check state of bulb.

7. Connectors

not

joined

together.

7.  Check all connectors are joined

together with locking collars tight.

ELCB trips
when light
is turned ON or
in use.

8.  Connector is not joined or in

the wrong configuration.

8.  Isolate electrically. Make sure

that the connectors have be
mated correctly (refer to page10)
Re-connect and ensure locking
collars have been tightened.

9. Water

in

electrical

connectors.

9.  Isolate electrically. Disassemble

the connectors and check to
make sure there is no water
present. Dry and re-assemble. A
small about of silicone grease
will not affect the electrical
connection.

10.  Cable has been damaged

10.  Cable may have been damaged

while in use. Check along the
length of all cables.

11.  Water in the light housing

11.  Refer to above (Water in

housing)

12.  Light head is faulty

12.  Remove from water and contact

your supplier.

Water inside the housing (especially sea water) can have fatal consequences   due to
conduction of electrically and build up of pressure from the vaporizing of water to
steam. Therefore, during the use of the light please check repeatedly, whether water
has found its way inside. Do this by holding the light on a slant pointing down, thus the
ray of light pointing away from the body. Then look at the front glass from the side. If
there is water inside the housing cease operation immediately by turning off the light
and returning to the surface. Please allow the light to cool for not less than 5minutes
before removing it from the water.
