SHINY LED LIGHT
SHINY LED TORCH
Compliments for purchasing the LED torch SHINY by Omer-
sub. This torch is the result of technological progress ba-
sed on years of experience in the underwater
fi
shing sec-
tor. The versatile use, features, high quality materials and
concept technology make this torch an absolutely unique
and essential item for apnoea diving and underwater
fi
shing.
The simple shape and small size make it easy to place anywhe-
re, and hook on to any equipment to minimise bulk. The torch
SHINY has been designed for use in apnoea, but is also ide-
al for sport diving with a self-contained breathing apparatus.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
CAUTION: Before using the torch SHINY, read this Manual
carefully.
CAUTION: Do not direct the torch towards your eyes or
towards the eyes of others, either overground or under
water.
CAUTION: Make sure to lock the switch during transport to
avoid switching on the torch unintentionally.
CAUTION: Make sure to remove the batteries during air
travel.
CAUTION: When replacing the batteries, remember to check
that the positive and negative ends are facing the correct
direction.
CAUTION: Use top quality batteries.
CAUTION: Never leave the unused packaged torch for long
periods with the batteries inserted.
CAUTION: During periods when the torch is not used, keep
the front ring slightly unscrewed to avoid locking the same.
CAUTION: It is mandatory to make sure that the positive
and negative ends of the batteries are facing the correct
direction.
CAUTION: If the batteries are incorrectly inserted (inverted
direction of positive and negative ends), a short circuit is
generated, causing irreversible damage with the danger of
the torch exploding!
GENERAL WARININGS
• Do not keep the torch switched on outside the water.
• Do not unscrew the frontal ring of the torch while diving or if it
is wet.

• Always use original spare parts for any ordinary or extraordinary
maintenance operations, including bulb replacement.
• Clean and lubricate the O-rings periodically with silicone grease.
• Always rinse with soft water and dry after every use.
• Unscrew the front ring of the torch anti-clockwise.
• Insert the batteries following the indications of the positive and
negative ends (+ or -).
• Lubricate the O-ring seals with a
fi
lm of silicone grease.
• Screw on the frontal ring clockwise.
• Check that the torch switches on with the dedicated switch.
CECK BEFORE DIVING
• Check perfect closure of the body.
• As soon as you touch water, check that no bubbles continuously
escape from the body of the torch.
FLOODING
If any water happens to enter the torch, follow these instructions:
unscrew the frontal ring and remove the unusable battery; rinse
the inside of the torch with soft water and then dry with a cloth and
the warm air of a hairdryer, paying special attention to the mecha-
nical parts. Carefully remove any oxide that might have formed on
metal parts, insert the new batteries and perform a function test.
If the torch were to remain for a long period with a considerable
amount of water inside, rinse the internal parts with soft water but then
contact the authorised dealer for any repairs that might be required.
MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORT
It is important to follow the instructions below:
• Always carry the torch inside a bag to protect it from impact.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
• At the end of every diving session (sea, lake or swimming-pool),
always rinse with soft water and dry.
• Check the condition of the O-ring seals every time the front ring
has been removed.
• Clean and lubricate opening parts with silicone grease.
• We advise getting the item inspected by an authorised dealer
once a year.
• During transport you must keep the front ring slightly unscrewed
to prevent battery damage.
WARRANTY
All Omersub products are guaranteed from material and proces-
sing defects for a period of 2 years after the date of purchase.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• Improper or incorrect use.
• Modi
fi
cations or repairs performed by unauthorised persons.
• Accidental or natural events.
• Use in polluted water or in waters with a high content of chlorine.
• Use in
fl
uids other than water.
• Prolonged exposure to sunlight or intense heat sources.
Omersub declines all responsibility for damage caused by
incorrect use of the equipment.
The same applies for direct or indirect damage of any kind
caused to persons or things due to any periods when the
product is not used or due to wrong use of the same.
