Quick Start Guide
Follow these simple steps to configure the Omniflex product in the shortest possible time.
1.
Power up the Omniflex product,
2.
Connect the Mini-Jack of the Programming Cable to the Omniflex product,
3.
If you are using a USB to Serial Adaptor, ensure it has been configured beforehand,
4.
Connect the serial port of the product to the Laptop/Computer OR to the USB to Serial
Adaptor,
5.
Refer to Knowledgebase Article 151 on the Omniflex website for a detailed USB to Serial
Adaptor set up procedure which is located at:

6.
G
o to “Device Manager” in Windows and locate the COM port
number for the USB to Serial
Adaptor (not required if using a PC/Laptop with a built-in serial port),
7.
Once you have downloaded the Omniset software
(see “Getting Started”),
install the
software on to a PC/Laptop,
8.
Register the Omniset software and once it has been registered, open Omniset (located
under “All Programs”, “Omniflex”
, and allow the software to automatically update the
templates,
9.
If there is an error message occurs about invalid port, acknowledge the error and click on
the “Options” menu and “Port Settings” and change the port number to the number
recorded in Step 4,
10.
Click on “File Connect” and
Omniset will read the product information from the Omniflex
product and load the correct template for the product,
11.
The Omniflex product can now be configured for use.
