INPUT and OUTPUT PORT CONNECTIONS

The INPUT port of the PS635 is a male DB25 RS232 connector. The INPUT port connects to the PBX
or other source of call records.  The Input port is configured as DTE, similar to a PC serial port.

The PS635 Input port only requires connections to Ground and Receive Data to receive data from the
PBX.  Your PBX may require connection to some or all of the output pins of the PS635 Input port in
order to release data to the PS635.  When a device is properly connected to the PS635 Input port, the
PS635 RXD IN light will be lit green, and will flicker red when receiving data.

The Output port of the PS635 uses a female DB25 RS232 connector. The Output port connects to the
device used to process the call record data, usually a pc with call accounting software installed.  The
PS635 Output port is a DCE configuration similar to a modem or PBX.  When a device is properly
connected to the PS635 Output port the PS635 RXD AUX light will be lit green, and will flicker red
when releasing data.
