PS635 POWER UP SEQUENCE

Before applying power to the PS635, the connecting cables should be installed on the INPUT and
OUTPUT RS232 ports.  Plug the power cord into the receptacle marked 12 VAC on the rear panel of
the PS635. Then plug the wall mounted power transformer into a 120 VAC wall socket (standard AC
supply).

1)Power and TXD Out lights will light.

2)The MDM light will flash 3 times.

3) The first time the PS635 is powered up, or if the battery backup has been completely used up, the
PS635 will execute full memory test and will indicate this by the ALM, MDM and Percentage full lights
flashing once.

5)If all power up tests have properly passed, the Power indicator LED will flash 10 times to indicate that
these tests were successful and the PS635 will now be ready for use.  After the Power LED stops
flashing the PS635 is ready to buffer call record data.  During normal operation, the Power light will
flash once every 10 seconds.

6)If the PS635 fails any part of the above tests, it will indicate this by repeatedly flashing the Percent
Full LEDs.  This is a fatal error, and Omnitronix Technical Support should be contacted immediately.

PS635 General Operation

The PS635c has a limited set of commands designed to provide a Compressed Binary Block polling
protocol and other PollCat compatible features. The PS635c has been customized to work with specific
customer applications and so is provides only a subset of the full PollCat compatible command set.  If
you do not find the features you are looking for please contact Omnitronix.

The PS635c has two modes of releasing data: POLLED MODE releases data using the CBB protocol
via the internal modem or output port.  INLINE MODE is designed for direct connection between a
PBX and computer with data being released using XON/XOFF handshaking.   Which operating mode is
active is determined by DIP switch B8 on the bottom of the PS635c.  OFF is Polled Mode and On is
Inline Mode
