CompoNet Communications Unit User’s Manual (I582-E1)
Using an Explicit Message to set data in each Attribute causes the new data to overwrite the existing data.
However, this new data is not stored in EEPROM and will be lost when the inverter is powered off.
To save changes to the holding registers into EEPROM, you need to issue the ENTER command using
the method shown below. In addition, if you have changed a control parameter, you must recalculate
the motor parameters. In this case also, use the ENTER command to execute recalculation.
To issue the ENTER command (Write to EEPROM), send an Explicit Message to the following Attribute.
At this time, select the value to be written using the following table.
Class: 64 hex, Instance: 09 hex, Attribute: 00 hex (Register: 0900 hex)
Precautions for Correct Use
Precautions for Correct Use
• If you change any of the following parameters, you must recalculate the motor parameters
by writing a value of 0000 or 0002 hex to the holding register for the ENTER command.
Parameters that require recalculation of motor parameters
• Because the inverter EEPROM has a limitation in the number of overwrites (approximately
100,000 times), frequent use of the ENTER command may reduce the life expectancy of the
inverter.
To specify each parameter of the register object in Class 64 hex, use the Modbus Register No..
Set high byte of the Modbus register to Instance and low byte to Attribute.
For a complete list of Modbus Register numbers for each inverter function and parameter, refer to
Section 6-8 Modbus Communication (Modbus-RTU) Data List of the MX2 User's Manual (Cat. No. I570)
and 8-5 Modbus Communication Register Number List of the RX User's Manual (Cat. No. I578).
