3. When performing the auto shutdown processing by WindowsNT's UPS
management software
Using the cable attached to optional PowerCredit, you can use Windows NT's or NetWare’s standard UPS
management software.

Connection
For DOS/V PC-98NX Series ... Use the connecting cable attached to PowerCredit.
Connect the connecting cable between the Contact Signal Connector of the UPS and the serial port on
your computer.

Configuring the setting switches
Specify "0 seconds" as the power output stop delay time setting (setting switches 1 and 2 ).

●
When using a Windows NT server, make the following setting from server's menu.
Special care must be taken to set the remote UPS shutdown because backup at a power failure is not
available if set incorrectly.
For more information, refer to the "Setting UPS" page in the Windows NT4.0's manual or the help file of
Windows NT4.0.
The signal settings are as follows:
Power Supply Stop Signal:
Negative (the default is negative)
Battery Capacity Low Signal: Negative (the default is negative)
Remote UPS Shutdown:
Positive (the default is negative)

When using NetWare, call the command input screen and enter the following to load the UPS module
onto the file server.
LOAD UPS TYPE=6 PORT=__ REV=2
After typing, press Enter.
After PORT=, enter the number of the serial port to which the UPS is connected. (1 or 2)
