Special operation
Command word
The Special Operation word requires a format as shown in the figure below,
and has the command code, error code and a channel number in it’s format.
The Command Code in the word allows selection of the action to be per-
formed, the channel to which the action will apply is set with the Channel
Number.
Response word
The command is sent immediately when any bit in the command word
changes. Once the command has been sent, the response is placed in the
PROFIBUS input operation Execute word. The format of the response is dis-
played in the figure below. If the execute word has the error bit (bit 4) set, an
error occurred in communicating with the attached device.
