Maintenance mode
CAUTION
Maintenance work should be performed by a qualified tech-
nician who is experienced in working with UPS systems and
understands the necessary safety precautions. Keep unau-
thorised personnel away from the UPS system.
The maintenance mode is required for service work on the UPS sys-
tem when the load must continue to be supplied, e.g. when replacing
batteries.
1. First switch the UPS system from normal mode into bypass
mode. See also section "
Switching the operating mode of the
UPS system
“.
CAUTION
Check the bypass mode of the UPS system before operating
the maintenance switch. The UPS system can otherwise be
damaged.
2. Remove the cover with the labelling "Maintenance Switch" on
the rear side of the UPS system (see Figure 26). Now turn
the maintenance switch from the UPS position to the BYPASS
position.
3. Switch the input switches MAIN 1 and MAIN 2 on the rear side
of the UPS system to the "OFF" position. The UPS system
switches off; the load continues to be supplied.
4. You can now perform the maintenance work.
5. After performing the service work, end the maintenance mode
again in the reverse order.
