Emptying/Cleaning the Bleeding System
Periodically flush the bleeding system by activating the blood flow until the bleeding stops and then
infusing the body with a mixture of water and Germaben® II-E (one capful for every gallon of water) to
prevent algal/fungal growth.
Replacing the Emergency Airway Neckband
A replaceable, multi-use neck band enables practice in providing an emergency airway. Each band
should enable six to eight applications. After each use, rotate the band to move the incision site away
from the trachea.
To replace the band:
1.
Stretch and pull the used band over the
head. This band can be discarded or repaired
(see
2.
Apply glycerin or lubricant to the trachea.
3.
Stretch and pull the new band over the head.
4.
Position the band over the trachea in the
track provided.
