Sure Sort™ Operator Manual
OPEX Corporation
Encoder
- The Encoder is a measuring device that keeps track of the speed of
the conveyor.
Expansion Module
- These are modular parts of the machine. The expansion
modules are built separately and can be joined together to make varying sizes
of the machine.
Gate
- The gates are levers in the machine along the track of the iBOTs. When
triggered, they send the iBOT in a different direction.
Gate control enclosure
- This enclosure houses the electronics that trigger the
gates to fire when required.
Height detector
- A metal plate positioned above the pacing conveyor that
prevents items that are too tall from entering the machine.
Host
- Operator's main interface with the machine. The host computer software
interfaces with the system’s controller to manage the system’s non
machine-related functions.
iBOT
- Delivery cars used to pick up incoming items at the loading station, and
deliver the sorted items into the bins in the stacker section.
Imager Entry Sensor
- This sensor resides on the Induct module and
communicates to the system through the I/O board that there is an object or
package waiting to be picked up by an iBOT. It will allow the Induct conveyor to
stop and start as needed.
Induct module
- This section is where the packages are dropped, scanned and
timed to wait for the next iBOT to pick up.
Induction
- The process of scanning an item one at a time, then placed onto
the conveyor system to be inserted onto an iBOT; and once on the iBOT,
sorted to the correct destination.
Inductor
- Operator in charge of placing items onto the induction belt.
Interlock
- A safety device that shuts the system down when tripped.The E-
Stops are interlocks. Interlocks are also on the front and rear doors.
I/O enclosure
- This enclosure houses the main I/O board. This is the go
between for the system to talk to our host computer and the customer’s
system. It is the source of the triggering, and pacing of the objects or
packages.
