Operations
1.
Before commencing any operation of
Optitec
Wireless Remote Control
Wheel,
ensure that the caravan or trailer is on a level, even, firm surface and there is
no risk of it moving towards a slope that could allow it to roll uncontrolled.
2.
Optitec
Wireless Remote Control Wheel
although it may do so very well, is
not specifically designed to move a caravan or trailer on sand, gravel, soft soil &
grass, wet surfaces or rough, uneven ground. It is the responsibility of the Operator to
determine individual situations and operational ability.
3.
Sufficient down force must be applied to
Optitec
Wireless Remote Control
Wheel
to ensure adequate traction in order to move the caravan or trailer safely and
accurately. Be aware of your caravan weight distribution characteristics.
4.
Release the caravan or trailer hand-brake prior to operation. Using
Optitec
Wireless
Remote Control Wheel
Remote Control Unit, turn
‘
on
’
power with button (#2). A
‘
Beep’
will sound. The caravan or trailer can now be moved by pressing the buttons
on Remote Control Unit as indicated
–
forward (#4), backward (#5), left (#6) and right
(#7). The
LED will light only whilst a button is pressed
and is not an indication of
power to the machine. Power will automatically shut off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
5.
Whilst moving the caravan or trailer, it is advisable to ensure the handbrake is
easily accessible in case it is required. It is recommended that an observer assist with
the operation to ensure there is no risk of collision with objects or danger to people
during the movement. If an over-current situation occurs, the motor will stop and a
continuou
s ‘beep’ will sound. Press the ‘Off’
button to reset the machine.
6.
Use remote control with a quick momentary button press to check the operation
and direction of wheel rotation to orientate the Forward and Reverse buttons with the
expected direction of travel of the
Optitec
Wireless Remote Control Wheel
before
attempting to carry out full manoeuvring operation.
7.
Once the caravan or trailer is parked in the desired position,
Optitec
Wireless
Remote Control Wheel
can be used in the same manner as a standard support
wheel (see Safety Note), however it is recommended that it not be exposed to the
weather for extended periods.
8.
Using remote control unit, turn
‘
off
’
power (#9) and disconnect the power supply as
soon as the caravan or trailer is parked to avoid accidental operation.
9.
Apply the caravan or trailer parking brakes securely and use wheel chocks.
