INSTALLATION
ORBAN MODEL 1101
Refer to step (3.C) on page 2-23.
d)
Click the P
ROCESSOR
M
IXER
tab.
e)
Set the A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
fader to make the AGC G
AIN
R
EDUCTION
meter (on
the main meter screen in the Orban Control application) indicate an
average of 10
dB gain reduction when normal levels are applied to the
OPTIMOD-PC’s analog input.
If necessary, scroll the Mixer window horizontally so that the AGC G
AIN
R
EDUCTION
meter is visible.
If the AGC G
AIN
R
EDUCTION
meter averages less than 10dB gain reduction
(higher on the meter), or if the G
ATE
indicator stays on when program
material is present, turn the A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
fader up.
If the AGC
G
AIN
R
EDUCTION
meter averages more gain reduction (lower on
the meter), turn the A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
fader down.
f)
Note the setting of the A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
fader. Click the D
IRECT

tab
and set the A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
fader to the same value.
g)
When finished, reset AGC
to D
ISABLED
, if required.
5.
Adjust the Analog L/R Input Balance Control. (optional)
[Skip this step if the channels are already balanced satisfactorily.]
[This step can only be accurately performed with test tones.]
A)
Click the
P
ROCESSOR
M
IXER
tab.
B)
Make your console or other program source output a correctly balanced test
tone, such that its left and right output level meters indicate identical levels.
C)
If the
M
IXER
O
UTPUT
meters on the
P
ROCESSOR
M
IXER
tab do not indicate iden-
tically, adjust the
P
AN
/B
ALANCE
control in the
A
NALOG
L/R
I
NPUT
block until they
do.
6.
Adjust the remaining input faders. (optional)
If you are using any of the other inputs, perform steps 3 through 5 (above) for
these sources, substituting the appropriate fader and balance control for the an-
alog control referenced in these steps. Be sure that you are driving only the input
you are adjusting; you can mute the other inputs by checking their
M
UTE
boxes
temporarily.
You can use a program like Adobe Audition to generate .WAVE files for
tone calibration.
7.
Set up the automatic backup feed function. (optional)
You may wish to configure your system so that OPTIMOD-PC will automatically
switch to a backup feed if a primary feed fails. The
A
NALOG
L/R
and
D
IGITAL
2
in-
puts can be programmed to mute automatically if the
D
IGITAL
1
input is locked to
an AES3 input signal and to unmute if the
D
IGITAL
1
input loses lock.
