When you turn the blade clutch, first, return the blade clutch lever to the [ OFF ] position, wait
for about 5 seconds, and then turn the cutting height adjustment lever to the [ MOVE ]
position.
(9) Stop the engine.
Refer to “How to stop the engine” ( page 22 )
When working on a gentle slope, make sure that the engine plug always faces
upward.
Cutting with the engine plug down may cause the engine oil to burn, and the engine
may emit white smoke.
It is possible to move the cutting height lever in order to disengage the blade lever, but
you should only do this in an emergency. If you do this often, the blade belt gets
sudden shock and becomes damaged. For non-emergencies, refer to above ( #8 )
operation.
It is not possible to operate the blade clutch lever when the cutting height adjustment
lever is all the way in the up position.
Normal stopping is performed by the shift lever. If the parking brake pedal is engaged
in an emergency situation, the machine -will stop suddenly. At the same time, the shift
lever will return to the neutral [ N ] position.
When you finish working, stop the engine and remove the key.
