ABOUT RADIO RECEPTION
The JMR838WFA is a radio frequency (RF) controlled clock. It
will automatically synchronize current time and date with the US
Atomic Clock. The benefit of a RF controlled clock is that highly-
accurate time is maintained and manual adjustments to the time
and date are not required.
When the batteries are first installed, the JMR838WFA will
automatically search for a radio signal.
When in search mode, the antenna icon [
] will blink. This
process takes between two to ten minutes. After initial search,
short periodic reception-signal scans will commence several
times a day.
The antenna icon indicates the strength of reception.

Interference
Reception can be affected by a number of factors. For best reception,
place the device away from metal objects and electrical appliances.
Note: When the JMR838WFA is new and just out of the box,
initial signal reception can take up to 72 hours. It is
recommended that the JMR838WFA be placed on a window
sill away from a TV, PC, radio, microwave or other
equipment that generates RF signals. Interference to signal
reception is lowest between midnight and 4AM.
